Would you like to know if your mobile is original or not ?????
Press the following on your mobile *#06# and the-international mobile equipment identity number appears. Then check the 7th and 8th numbers:

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 02 or 20 this means your cell phone was assembled in Emirates which is very Bad quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 08 or 80 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Germany which is fair quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 01 or 10 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Finland which is very Good
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 00 this means your cell phone was manufactured in original factory which is the best Mobile Quality
IF the Seventh & Eighth digits are 13 this means your cell phone was assembled in Azerbaijan which is very Bad quality and also dangerous for your health

Mine is 00 but it’s made in Germany. It’s says so both inside the phone and on the sticker on the box. Meaning that the above ‘info’ is NOT very reliable. Also, why is Hungary not listed? Nokia has a huge factory there and it’s not the “original factory”, whatever that might mean.

this info is dubious!!! i just bought a Nokia 6300 which was claimed as assembled in China as per sticker on the box and on the phone but the 7th & 8th digit of the IMEI is 02? How is that!!!!

I think this info is not very reliable. The store where I purchased my Nokia N73 phone says that its made in China but my IMEI number has the numbers 0 and 1 as the 7th and 8th digit, this means that my phone is manufactured in Finlad (which is of very good quality) what does this mean? Which info is true? Please reply via this website or through my email.

This info seems TOTALLY WRONG as with many of the infos shared on internet blogs just for fun.
I bought my 3110Classic 4 days back from ORIGINAL NOKIA PRIORITY shop and the box says the set manufactured in Korea.
My IMEI 7th and 8th digits are “02″ which means Emirates.
This can’t be true since the box says Korea and it was imported by Original Nokia India, who I assume would put proper info on the box.

i have nokia 6500(made in hungary ), 7 and 8th number is 02 ,and its always frouzen.

I almost believe on the tips given above but when I check my friend’s newly bought Nokia 6233,it says it was made in hungary but the IMEI 7th and 8th digits are 01 which is made in finland. I doubt it because when we purchased this mobile even the installation cd is not included in the accessories.

The format changed from April 1, 2004 when the Final Assembly Code ceased to exist and the Type Approval Code increases to eight digits in length and became known as the Type Allocation Code. From January 1, 2003 until this time the FAC for all phones was 00.
The Reporting Body Identifier is allocated by the Global Decimal Administrator; the first two digits must be decimal (ie less than 0xA0) for it to be an IMEI and not an MEID.
The new CDMA Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) uses the same basic format as the IMEI.

I dont trust this information either. But………..instead of squabbling, can we find somebody working for any of these real,fake and original “factories” out there to verify the issue a cousin, brother, father etc to one of you?

Yes, this info would be really helpful.
I found an imei with “24″ for N95 (8GB version) and have no ideea what the actual provenience is. “Bad quality” or dubios ?!! Please help !

Those 2 digits were called FAC – Final Assembly code. However after 1 Jan 2003 this number was not used and was always 00 by all manufacturers. In April 1, 2004, they renewed the rules for IMEI and FAC number was no more used and the first 6 digits which was used to find who provided this IMEI number was then proposed to have 8 digits. So this information might be reliable only for devices manufactured before 2003.

The ORIGINAL FACTORY means that the phone you are using is made of original materials from different places. Like for example: the battery is made originally from korea and the spare parts inside the phone is from finland. That’s why there is only few of these phone come’s from original factory because it’s not easy for the manufacturer to gather original materials from different places.

just use the mobile phone. don’t care about the IMEI. 00 or 01 or 02 or 03 .. etc leave that to nokia.. just use the phone.
